New Horse Statue Installation at the Greg Cox Civic Complex

New Horse Statue Installation at the Greg Cox Civic Complex

There is a “new horse in town” (sculpture, that is)!

It is located at the “Greg Cox Civic Complex” (a.k.a., the Bonita County Library and Museum & Cultural Center complex) across from the Vons Shopping Center. There will be a bronze plaque affixed to the base of the work telling about both the horse sculpture and the sculptor himself, Mr. Mehl Lawson.

On Saturday, May 15th from 2 – 5 p.m., the Bonita Museum & Cultural Center will host a casual party outside the Museum honoring both retired County Supervisor Greg Cox and Mehl Lawson. If you are available, please plan on stopping by to congratulate and celebrate Greg, Mehl, and all those who have been involved in bringing this special, signature sculpture to our community.

As many of you know, our Sweetwater Valley Civic Association’s motto is “Making the Sweetwater Valley the Best Place to Live.” The efforts of those involved with bringing the horse sculpture to the Greg Cox Civic Complex are living that motto.

Hope to see you all at “the complex” in May. In the mean time, you might enjoy stopping by and checking out the wonderful, life-sized sculpture or viewthe gallery below.
