January 3, 2024 Meeting Notice

Join Us on January 3rd for the Upcoming Sweetwater Valley Civic Association Meeting.

Dear Guests and members of the Sweetwater Valley Civic Association:

I trust you all had a lovely holiday season and a safe New Year planned. The Sweetwater Valley Civic Association has an upcoming meeting and Elder Fraud presentation by an FBI special agent on January 3rd. Please join us and share this meeting information with your friends and neighbors so we can all be better informed of ways scammers want to part us from our financial resources.

This free information session on “Elder Fraud: Be Aware and Report Scams” is presented by an FBI special agent and is for seniors, caregivers, and neighbors. It will take place on Wednesday, January 3rd at 7 P.M. during the Sweetwater Valley Civic Association Meeting.

Protecting yourself from scams targeting seniors for financial gain is important. Elder fraud schemes are becoming increasingly common, so it’s important to learn the signs and symptoms of these scams. Law enforcement is taking steps to protect seniors and prosecute scammers, but you can also take action to prevent falling victim to these scams. If you suspect that a scammer has targeted you or a loved one, be sure to report it to your local law enforcement as soon as possible.

This is through a proud partnership between the FBI San Diego Citizens Academy Alumni Association and San Diego Seniors Community Foundation to spread the message to be aware and report scams.
